Wythenshawe Business Gateway

Wythenshawe Business Gateway events are held five times per year and bring businesses together to network, make new contacts and hear from keynote speakers on a range of topics affecting businesses.

Using various local venues and a convenient early evening time slot, Wythenshawe Business Gateway has become a statutory date in the local business diary, and brings typically between 80-100 businesses together to network.

The format includes updates for members, inspiring speakers such as Mike Kane MP, Sir Richard Leese and representatives from Airport City, plus plenty of time to network and form new business relationships.

Why not take advantage of this informal opportunity to meet influential professionals including community leaders, council representatives, business owners and individuals working in the area?

Business Working With Wythenshawe is pleased to host a regular networking event, Wythenshawe Business Gateway, usually in venues around South Manchester but for the time being virtually. This is a great opportunity for businesses to network and get to know each other from Wythenshawe and the wider Manchester area.

At each event we welcome inspirational, high-profile speakers to provide relevant updates and insight in to a range of different businesses.

At BW3's second virtual WBG we are delighted to be joined by Karen Smart, Managing Director at Manchester Airport for a question and answer session chaired by Adam Jupp, Communications Director, Manchester Airports Group

Karen Smart has recently returned to Manchester Airport as its new managing director, moving over from the same role at East Midlands Airport, which is also part of the Manchester Airport Group.

Karen reports to the Manchester Airport CEO, Andrew Cowan and is responsible for the day-to-day running of the northern gateway. She was the Managing Director at East Midlands Airport since April 2018 and had previously held several senior operational roles at London Stansted Airport.

Karen started her career in the Royal Air Force, initially as an aircraft engineer before retraining as an air traffic controller. After over 20 years in the RAF she joined Serco, carrying out numerous roles culminating as Partnership Director of their Defence and Aviation business.
