My role is to bridge the gap between business and the local Wythenshawe community. By building and forging good relationships between schools, local partners and organisations and connecting them with volunteering opportunities provided by the BW3 network of businesses we are making a tangible difference to Wythenshawe communities. I have worked with BW3 for seven years now and grown the membership from 30 to over 250 and embedded the charity as a key Wythenshawe stakeholder.

Hi, I am Paul Seymour , Executive Director at Wythenshawe Community Housing Group – which provides 14,000 homes to rent and own across Wythenshawe. We are also a major local business and local employer and provide a wide range of services that support our tenants and the community. I feel passionately about helping the amazing talented young people in Wythenshawe to reach their potential and to have the opportunities to learn well, live well and prosper. I am a new member of the BW3 committee and want to ensure I and WCHG plays its part in the many different ways businesses across Wythenshawe can support, invest and encourage our future generations of Wythenshawe.

I haven't had what I call a 'proper job' now for over 25 years. I started my own small business and haven't looked back since then. I love working for myself and get great enjoyment and job satisfaction from it. My stock in trade is people development – I help others to learn and grow as an individual so it is all about personal skills and attributes, enabling people to understand the impact they have on others and how they can influence that relationship.
I feel proud of my career and achievements. I went to a High School and came away with 6 CSE's and 1 O Level – so yes, that old! There was no 6th form, so I went to college to learn secretarial skills for two years. After about 6 months in an office job, I discovered this was definitely not the career for me so took control of my career path and here I am.
My passion is supporting others to develop. On one such occasion, one of my learners delivered a presentation about BW3 and what it does. It inspired me to find out more and quickly became part of the Committee, where I am today, hopefully adding value and a different perspective on how we can positively impact on Wythenshawe and its community.
With another volunteering hat on, I also work with an organisation called Read Easy Wythenshawe, helping adults, who find reading challenging for whatever reason, improve their reading ability.

My name is Nathan Jack and I am the Business Growth Manager for Manchester Athena.
Athena is a partnership of 16 Greater Manchester housing providers that looks to remove barriers to employment for customers.
Originally from Dudley, I became aware of BW3 when working for Wythenshawe Community Housing Group, who I represented on the BW3 Committee and subsequently, became a mentor.
I have been involved in adult education and supporting people into work for over 20 years and really enjoy seeing people develop as they gain new skills.
I am a great believer in the talent of young people in Wythenshawe. I am excited to work with the BW3 committee as well as the wider BW3 members to create opportunities for young people and help them realise their talent.

Greg Bate, National Strategic Partnership Manager for the Seetec Group, and a proud Wythenshawe resident. As a Wythenshawe resident, I want to invest in the future of the area for my daughters and my family, that is why I am trustee of the BW3 charity. During my 16 years of living in the area I have seen the positive results of the investment and regeneration of Wythenshawe, witnessed the impact of the Metrolink, of various new housing developments and the improvement in schooling standards and provision. I have great neighbours and I want my daughters to have great opportunities in life and being part of BW3 gives me the opportunity to give back to the wonderful community where I live and have chosen to raise my family.
Brian Hay

I was born and educated in Wythenshawe and grew up with an average mixed of O-Levels and CSEs. After leaving college I entered the world of logistics, which has a high prevalence of activity in and around the local region and was fell in love with the industry.
At the age of 26, armed with a £15,000.00 loan from my father-in-law, realized my ambitions by co-founding Cardinal Global Logistics., which is head-quartered in Sharston, Wythenshawe.
The business now generates annual revenues of £450 million, operates from 12 offices in the UK and a further 20 international offices across Asia, Africa and Europe and Australasia.
Cardinal enjoys a close relationship with BW3 and activity participates across a range of initiatives, with a particular emphasis on the Aspirational Mentoring Programme. Our association with the mentoring programme has also resulted in the appointment of 25 apprentices, all of whom continue to be employed by the business and are successfully building their careers in the logistics industry.
Rob Dillon
Manchester City Council
Born, educated, and raised in Wythenshawe, I have a deep connection and commitment to the area. I have worked for Manchester City Council for 25 years. As MCC's Wythenshawe Neighbourhood Manager, I work on a range of place-making, regeneration, growth, economic development and social inequality projects and I am proud to have sat on BW3's managing committee for the past 15 years driving the group forward.
For BW3 I oversee delivery of all BW3's school facing activities and personally, I am an experienced 6th form student mentor and more recently a reading mentor to an autistic student. I continue to actively support the charity through my committee position, my schools lead role and using my extensive business contacts to increase the range of active high-profile businesses joining BW3.

As well as working directly with neighbouring communities, Manchester Airport are committed to building upon the strong and lasting relationships we have with our local authorities, and key stakeholders. Our work with BW3 is a vital part of that.
MAG airports are known to be good neighbours and we work hard to engage with residents near our airports on a whole range of issues, including employment, public transport, noise management and air quality.
There is always more to do and our teams pride themselves on the links they build, not just with local residents. Our business networking is key and being involved in BW3 is a great opportunity.
Their programmes allow us to showcase opportunities at our airports to a wider range of local people. The education activities co-ordinated by BW3 provide another opportunity inspire the next generation, and support our own education programmes.

Over the past 5 years I've worked at Manchester City Council. I became aware of BW3 when working as part of the Neighbourhood Team in the Wythenshawe area. Once I heard about the brilliant initiatives offered by BW3, supporting young people and Wythenshawe residents, I was keen to support the Charity by joining the committee as Secretary and sitting on the Business Development sub-group.
Currently, I provide strategic policy support to the Neighbourhoods Service at the council, working on projects with frontline services, including supporting community cohesion, helping residents get digital access and making sure Manchester is a resilient city as part of our civil contingency plans to respond to emergencies. I'm passionate about developing Manchester's communities into thriving places and working with BW3 is an excellent opportunity to have a positive and meaningful impact on young people's lives.

I have been involved with BW3 for over 10 years now and act as a trustee of the charity and also the treasurer. I own Nabarro Poole Ltd. Accountants based in Northenden where my team and I provide compliance work and advisory work to SME businesses across Greater Manchester and beyond.
My favourite initiative that BW3 runs is the Business Gateway Events, where I act as host and get the opportunity to meet many other organisations all with a shared interest in making the place that they work and live as great as it can be.

My name is Adam Jupp and I am proud to serve at chair of BW3. My “day job” is as communications director for Manchester Airports Group, overseeing all external communications for Manchester, London Stansted and East Midlands Airports. Manchester Airport was a founding member of BW3 and is committed to ensuring the communities surrounding it thrive, which is why I love playing such an active role in BW3. Prior to MAG, I was a journalist for 11 years, firstly in my native north east and then at the MEN, where I was an associate editor.
