You may feel the suggestion that your business can transform the lives of people in Wythenshawe is hard to believe. But it very much is the case.
Wythenshawe is home to some of the most deprived wards in the UK, with lower-than-average attainment in literacy, numeracy and other core skills. There are higher rates of young people who find themselves not in education, employment or training than in most other parts of Manchester.
But it is also home to, and surrounded by a vibrant and varied business base, with companies of all sizes operating in a diverse range of sectors – from transport and logistics to retail, technology and hospitality. Local companies like yours offer a huge range of exciting careers that could be a perfect fit for school-leavers and adults.
That is why BW3 has developed a range of programmes companies can get involved with, all of which aim to raise aspirations in young people at an early age, inspire them about future careers in the surrounding area and remove the barriers that are in the way of them realising their potential.
Helping businesses maximise their potential is key to the ongoing economic and social health of Wythenshawe. We aim to support that by providing recruitment support, coordinating jobs fairs, providing important links and support for entrepreneurs and signposting government support.
We also urge businesses to attend our Wythenshawe Business Gateway events, where guest speakers deliver sessions on a wide range of topics aimed at helping inspire businesspeople about their growth journeys.
