BW3 – Business Working With Wythenshawe – will mark the milestone on Thursday 1 December with an event at the Runway Visitor Park, Manchester Airport.

The charity, which helps businesses give back to the community by raising aspirations of young people, has unveiled a series of special guests who will speak at the showcase.

Those joining the celebrations will hear from actor Chris Bisson, who is currently in Emmerdale, about his journey from growing up in Wythenshawe to becoming a star of stage and screen. He will be joined by radio presenter and former TV host Eamonn O’Neal, who was also raised in the community and has gone on to have a varied and successful career in a range of fields. This has ranged from managing editor of the Manchester Evening News to CEO of St Ann’s Hospice.  Eamonn was also Her Majesty’s High Sheriff of Greater Manchester 2020/21.

They will be joined in the “Inspiring Wythenshawe” discussion by Brian Hay, CEO of Cardinal Global Logistics, who will share is own story of being raised in Wythenshawe and going on to build a high-flying business career. Also speaking will be Gavin Evans, chair of Norbrook Youth Club, which was attended by England and Manchester United star Marcus Rashford. Gavin will outline what it takes to inspire the younger generation to follow their dreams. Also joining us will by Kyra Jones, Principal of Manchester Enterprise Academy and Sarah Rudd, Headteacher at Newall Green Primary School to talk about what makes Wythenshawe a special place where everyone can succeed.

Places are still available to attend the celebration event, which runs from 5-8pm.

Guests will be entertained by band up an coming Wythenshawe band The Marbellas, as well as being treated to drinks and canapes to mark the two decades of BW3.
